Pass on the shiny, bells/whistles of tech
Unless and until industry becomes a heck of a lot more vigilant/successful with regard to securing confidential personal data, I have no desire to share my medical information (electronic or otherwise) with anyone on a widespread scale.  If the average person knew 1/10th of the breaches/lost laptops containing sensitive data that occur, I doubt the attitude would be so cavalier/gung-ho about sharing.

Reduce costs and increase efficiency
These developments should both reduce the cost of individual healthcare "transactions" and make them faster for both the physician and patient.
