Re : Nokia Smartphone Sales Dip Ahead Of Microsoft Buyout
When it comes to smart phones, Android and iOS are so settled in this arena that it will be very difficult to take them heads on. Windows based smart phones are lacking in many utilities that Android/iOS based phones provide to the users. To start with, Windows app store needs to be competitive in terms of number of apps and quality of apps.

Re : Nokia Smartphone Sales Dip Ahead Of Microsoft Buyout
I read the argument in some other post that Microsoft should divert its attention from hardware manufacturing to its traditional area of expertise that is software and cloud solutions. Microsoft's buying of Nokia tells a totally different tale. It seems Microsoft is bent on making its own place in the smart phones and tablets market what come may.

Silly rabbits!!!
They were so opposed to paying the royalties to use Android now they are gonna wind up dirfting into obscurity.   But all is not lost.  When they start losing too much money Microsoft will spin them off or sell them to a VC firm and guess what the VC firm will do?   Yep.  USE ANDROID!!!!!!!
