The object storage file system is a new concept of sotrage virtualization - the complex data set is treated as a single entity. It will definitely change the way how the data is stored over cloud, Actifio is the expert in this area and IBM will benefit from it.

IBM, Actifio and object store file systems
This kind of service is made possible by the use of object store file systems in cloud storage, a la Amazon Web Services S3. Since a data set is handled as a single file, it changes many things about how storage can be handled, especially backup and recovery. Actifio is on top of it.
