Microsoft won't be thrilled
I'm sure Dell-investor Microsoft isn't thrilled about this move, but that's life. NetSuite competes with Microsoft's Dynamics enterprise apps business and, in fact, Dell uses Dynamix ERP for selected applications. Dell's HQ financials run on Oracle E-Business Suite.

Dynamics already offers GP and NAV ERP in the cloud as hosted managed services. Dynamics AX, the company's flagship ERP system, is moving onto Azure as a multi-tenant service, so that's where we'll see closer competition with NetSuite. Interestingly, Kirill Tatarinov, head of the Dynamics business, has recently been quoted dismissing cloud deployment as an important deployment mode for ERP at sizeable companies.

A natural match
Dell's Boomi integration in the cloud and NetSuite's SaaS is a natural match. Not surprising that these two got together. Boomi may find it needs to make some additional connectors for the small and medium sized businesses in the NetSuite customer base.
