re: iPhone Battery Woes Rooted In Hardware Or Software?
I have an iPhone 4 and I have significant battery drainage since updating to ios 5.0. and iOS 5.0.1 seemed to make it worse. My son and husband both have an iPhone 4 and the updates have not affected their phones. Occasionally my phone will overheat and lose all battery power.

It SOUNDS like software, based on the developer's experience. I personally do not have a problem with battery life. I have noticed that it's a bit shorter than my iPhone 4, but not much. I still last all day with the phone being heavily used.
