Microsoft becoming a stronger database competitor?
Microsoft is a more dangerous competitor than perhaps realized. It's not only picking up the pace on in-memory database processing but it will offer a SQL Server compatible system in Azure, which could act as an easily synched, hot backup copy in the cloud. With lower prices, that makes SQL Server more useful in a variety of ways.
