Is it really so hard
One can argue that Canada's government is so much smaller than the US, that's its much easier for it to move to a single email system and a single pair of data centers. But the truth is, the US government continues to be beholden to a messy, engrained appropriations system, preserved by Congressmen who don't want to  give up their funding control.  As a result, while we claim progress when a single department, like the Department of Agriculture, consolidates a dozen different intra-department email systems into one, the fact remains, the government continues to needlessly support hundreds of duplicate emails systems.  And then there's all those data centers no one wants to give up.  When will our national leaders get the will power to end the madness?
