Sharp Electronics' 3D camera module for mobile devices is capable of capturing HD images. The prototype also has 3D output over HDMI and can take pictures and video in 3D for viewing on compatible device and uses technology similar to the Nintendo 3DS, requiring users to hold the device in a certain spot to make 3D images visible.
