Most people don't regularly need a scientific calculator, and for them the standard iPhone calculator is good enough for everyday use. For those that need it, though, the iPhone does come with the scientific version. Simply go into the iPhone calculator and turn the phone to landscape mode to use it. Keep in mind that if your phone is locked into portrait mode, you must first unlock it to use the scientific calculator.

Great List! While I haven't seen any studies on the topic, I would be surprised if #5, flash message alerts, hasn't yet induced a seizure. It's like a surprise camera flash!

The company EaseUS has a recover application, MobiSaver, for photos, videos and reminders/Notes. http://www.easeus.com/mobisave..., basic version is free.

That might help ;-)

re: 10 Hidden iPhone Tips, Tricks
Set up a Gmail account and a Yahoo mail account and mail the photos from
Gmail to your Yahoo address. Then, if you ever loose them on your
phone, you can retrieve them in TWO locations, either your Yahoo inbox, or the Gmail "sent mail" folder.
Of course, this won't work once the photos are deleted ... only as a preventative measure. But it's a cheap alternative to a payment based cloud backup service ... both Gmail and Yahoo mail are free to setup and use. :-)

re: 10 Hidden iPhone Tips, Tricks
Hi Lorna,
I've done some research on the topic, as I have mistakenly deleted pictures myself. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to recover them once they're gone - if there is, I still hope to find it! I recommend regularly backing up photos onto iTunes or iCloud. It's comforting to know that if my phone breaks or I happen to erase photos, there are copies of them stored elsewhere.

Kelly, A complaint I often hear from iOS users with kids is that photos get deleted accidentally. Is there a clever data recovery hack that you can share?
