Asus got more recent attention with the Taichi and its "transformer" line of tablets, which come with mobile docks that essentially convert them into ultrabook-like hardware, complete with keyboard and USB ports. The Prime, on the other hand, is the newest member of the existing Zenbook family, though it hasn't been released in the U.S. yet. (Engadget noted from Computex that there will be a touchscreen version, too.) The Zenbooks currently available could appeal to SMBs and other users without a touch jones or near-term plans to deploy Windows 8, but they don't come cheap: Depending on the model and specs, prices typically run well past $1,000 at retail outlets.
