5 Apple iPad 5 Wishes

Will Apple's 5th-generation iPad be a bore or have innovations galore? We'd like to see five rumors come true.

Each iPad upgrade has gotten a new processor, and the 5th-gen model should get one, too. But which Apple-designed system-on-chip (SoC) can we expect? The 4th-gen iPad has the A6X, a 1.4-GHz, dual-core CPU with a quad-core graphics processing unit (GPU). However, given the bad blood between Apple and Samsung, which manufactures the 32-nanometer (nm) A6X, changes might be in store.

Earlier this month, the Korea Times reported that Apple might ditch Samsung and go with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) as the builder of its upcoming A7 processors. Taiwanese media have reported similar claims as well.

However, KGI Securities' Kuo says Apple will stay with Samsung for the new A7X, reports MacRumors.

What is the point of an Ultra Narrow Bezel Tablet? When I pick up my iPad, I often grasp it with my thumb on the bezel area. If there is no bezel area, that will result in touching the screen and sometimes inadvertent gestures. So just picking the thing up will become a challenge. No thanks.

True, but they're also generating fewer viewers. I stopped coming to this site regularly when they started with the slide show crap, and this just reinforces my attitude. I'm here for information.

-Stylus and active digitizer
-Keyboard with battery extender(even as a peripheral)
-Cortex-A57
-Camera is not very important, as long as it has something for communicational purposes, I hope, that the arms race don't push budgets into megapixel nonsense in tablet wars
-Same goes to screen resolution. Its already ridiculous.

re: 5 Apple iPad 5 Wishes
How about a useful case instead of a thinner one? The first thing everyone has to do is buy another case because the one from Apple is so fragile. It's also smooth which makes it slippery and vulnerable to being dropped.

For marketing purposes it should be ZOGI. Come up with a little ZOGI animal as a logo. IGZO is unnatural.

Do they factor in price with the sales figures? I think a lot of people buy the mini because it is cheaper. I think people would buy the full size iPad over the mini if the price were the same. I've heard people say "Look, this one is over a hundred dollars cheaper" but have never heard "I like this one because it's smaller and displays a smaller picture."

Software - how about a real file manager? Also, admit that there is a real world out there and make your browser compatible with it?
