Samsung's New Gadgets: Visual Tour

Samsung's Note 3 smartphone and Note 10.1 tablet feature sleek design bonuses, while the Galaxy Gear smartwatch breaks new ground.
2 of 5

Both the Note 3 smartphone and Note 10.1 tablet feature an improved S Pen stylus with Air Command software. You access the Air Command user interface by clicking the stylus button while hovering over the screen.

The Air Command menu provides access to five key functions:

-- Action Memo: Convert handwritten information into formatted content. To save a contact, for example, you can handwrite a name and number with the stylus then draw a circle around that information. A menu will appear to give you the options of calling or saving the contact.

-- Scrapbook: Organize favorite Web pages in one place. You can save Web pages, photos and YouTube videos by drawing a circle around the information in your browser. You can save the page in a Scrapbook folder for future access. The function also saves the site URL.

-- Screen Write: Take a screenshot image and write comments on top of the picture.

-- S Finder: Search for content on your phone. You can enter keywords, dates or locations to find documents, calendar events, chat threads, handwritten content or the help page.

-- Pen Window: Open another application with the stylus. By drawing a window on your screen, you can open another app such as calculator, YouTube or another browser window.

re: Samsung's New Gadgets: Visual Tour
"The 10" screen has 2560 x 1600"... I wonder how much benefit users will actually get from all those pixels, at typical viewing distances. Still looks like a nice device. I am far from sold on the smartwatch, however, especially given the price and compatibility limitations.
