Who's hotter than Nikola Tesla? Instead of an internal combustion engine, the Tesla Motors electric vehicles use a three-phase alternating current (AC) induction motor, a technology first patented in the US in 1888 by Nikola Tesla.
According to Tesla Motors, "With an electric motor, instant torque is available at any RPM. The entire rotational force of the motor is available the instant the accelerator is pressed. Peak torque stays constant to nearly 6000 RPM, only then does it start to slowly roll-off." Software ensures that you don't take off like a rocket ship every time you put your foot on the pedal.
