People have the option of paying $5.95 to electronically file their return to speed up the time in receiving a refund, the San Diego-based financial software maker said.

Intuit also plans to launch later this month a tax-filing web site designed specifically for young tax filers between the ages of 18 and 24. The TurboTax for the Web EZ service includes discount coupons for PCs, digital cameras and spring break travel spots. The service starts at $5.95, which includes electronic filing.

In addition, Intuit has given its full TurboTax for the Web service a facelift. The user interface has been redesigned to make it more familiar to customers who use popular sites such as Amazon.com and Yahoo! The company has also replaced some tax jargon with plainspoken English.

A "Custom To You" option has been added to automatically customize the online service to a user's unique tax situation, eliminating unnecessary screens, so customers can focus only on areas relevant to them.
