Preppy cataloger and retailer J.Crew Group is reeling in computer work the company had outsourced, says a document it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It's part of J.Crew's plan to make "significant upgrades" to its IT systems, the document says, and the company may take back other outsourced IT" in the near future."

EDS provides most of the IT systems for J.Crew's headquarters, stores, distribution centers, and call centers. An EDS spokesman says J.Crew has taken some work back in-house but says they still have a "good relationship." The $40 million EDS deal began in 2001, under then J.Crew CIO Paul Fusco, who left in 2004.
