Centrino Laptops Certified For Flight

Connexion by Boeing says it has worked with Intel to certify most laptops using Intel Centrino technology to work with its in-flight wireless broadband systems.

Connexion by Boeing said Monday that it has worked with Intel to certify that Centrino-based laptops will work with its in-flight wireless broadband systems.

Connexion's system has been deployed by a number of international airlines such as Lufthansa, Japan Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines. It said it has worked with Intel's Wireless Verification Program to ensure that Centrino laptops will function normally when connected to the in-flgiht service.

"By verifying Connexion's service compatibility with Intel Centrino mobile technology and devices, we help ensure that air passengers have a consistent, high quality, in-flight Wi-Fi experience," David Friedman, vice president of marketing and direct sales for Connexion by Boeing, said in a statement.
