Salesforce.com led the Disruptive Technology Portfolio after launching the Winter '07 version of its On Demand CRM software last week and beginning a broader test of its Apex programming language. Apex will let developers customize Salesforce and build add-ons to it using the programming language and APIs to access Salesforce's software stack. It's part of CEO Marc Benioff's plan to use apps from independent software developers to help Salesforce reach vertical markets such as insurance and travel.

Salesforce also said Dell has bought 15,000 seats of its CRM app and DuPont has expanded its seat count. That's notable because DuPont is a large customer of SAP, a Salesforce competitor. Salesforce's stock was up 6% in the week on the announcements.

Last week, the Disruptive Technology Portfolio was up 0.4% while the S&P 500 was up 1.1%. Overall, 17 stocks advanced while 12 declined.
