Ultimate Software's stock rose 8% last week, making it the week's biggest mover of the 29 Disruptive Technology Portfolio companies. The upswing came after Ultimate, a human capital management company that offers Web-based payroll and workforce management software, said it expects much higher earnings-per-share growth this year compared with last. The company is forecasting EPS of 68 to 70 cents, up from last year's EPS of 15 cents.

Last month, Ultimate reported fiscal 2006 revenue of $114.8 million, a 30% increase over the previous year. Net income for the year ended Dec. 31 was $4.1 million, up from $3.4 million the year before. The company's fourth-quarter revenue came in at $33.0 million, a 32% increase from the same quarter the year before; fourth-quarter net income of $1.8 million was flat compared with the same quarter of 2005.

Overall, the DTP was up 1.2% last week compared with the S&P 500, which was relatively flat at 0.2%. Twenty-two stocks advanced while seven declined.
