The Disruptive Technology Portfolio had another tough week, declining 1%. The S&P 500 grew 0.6% during the same period. Fifteen DTP stocks ended the week up, while 14 showed losses.

This was markedly different from the prior week, when only five stocks ended up in positive territory while 24 declined. This may be an early sign that the market is bottoming out, but there's still a lot of residual fear stemming from the sell-off of the past few weeks.

The stock of Kenexa, a provider of human capital management software and services, is a good example of how this fear played out. Kenexa's stock fell more than 12% because of investors' concerns that the declining stock market could be a leading indicator of a recession. And in all likelihood, a recession would probably lead to a slowdown in hiring across all industries, negatively impacting Kenexa's recruiting, hiring, and employee-retention business.
