Cell Calls Travel The Net

Cell-phone users can make calls over the Internet using a service that i2 Telecom International plans to introduce next month. Customers will need to install the company's InternetTalker MG-3 device on broadband phone lines and Web connections in their homes or offices. When a customer dials his home or office number, caller ID will recognize the cell phone's number and connect to the InternetTalker, which will route the call over the Internet. That will permit calls to anywhere in the world with no extra charges other than normal cell-phone charges and i2 Telecom's charges. The company plans to charge 5 cents a minute for calls to China and 3 cents to the United Kingdom.
