Anytime, Anywhere Training For Sailors

It's anchors aweigh for a new Navy E-learning program. The training systems division of the U.S. Navy Warfare Center last week signed a four-year, $7.5 million contract with Outstart Inc. for the E-learning vendor's content-authoring software. The plan is to create E-learning courseware that can be reused for other learning content and distributed via the Internet, an intranet, or CD-ROMs. Says Peg David, the Navy's E-learning program manager, "When [sailors] dock, they can upload grades and courses."
