Multigig has found a way to make semiconductors' clock circuitry burn less energy, possibly letting chipmakers boost processing speeds. Chip clocks, which use electronic pulses to control components in processors, account for half the energy that chips expend. Multigig's clocks pulse in loops around the chip, slashing energy use by 75%. Sounds electrifying.
