Dell's Enterprise Business Strategy

New servers and network-management tools are part of the enterprise business strategy outlined by Dell Computer last week.

The PowerEdge 1655MC is Dell's first blade server, a modular system the company says will have the power of six servers in one and cut costs while improving efficiency. "This is a developing market and there's a lot of room for expansion, because right now [server-blade technology] has been mostly a factor in data centers," says Ross Rubin, an analyst at Jupiter Media Metrix. Dell also unveiled two Xeon-based PowerEdge tower and rack-optimized servers.
