Volatility among the stock prices of companies in the Disruptive Technology Portfolio was fairly low last week as most stocks stayed within 5% of their opening prices. EBay was the biggest exception as its stock climbed 8% in the week after the company reported results that were well above expectations for its fourth quarter.

The eBay Marketplaces group was the primary driver behind the fourth-quarter results. Revenue in that unit of $1.2 billion exceeded forecasts as revenue per online marketplace listing increased to $1.96, compared with $1.73 in the previous quarter.

Following the strong quarterly report, eBay management raised financial guidance for 2007, and the combination of these two events spurred investors to push shares of the stock higher over the week.

The Disruptive Technology Portfolio was up 0.5% in the middle of last week compared with the S&P 500, which declined 0.1%. Overall, 17 stocks advanced and 12 fell.
