The product was bought from San Francisco consulting firm Adaptive Path for an undisclosed sum. Jeff Veen, an Adaptive Path founder and product director for Measure Map, was hired by the Mountain View, Calif., search engine.
"Today, as the Measure Map team joins Google, our mission remains the same: to build the best possible user experience so people can understand and appreciate the effect their blogs -- their words and ideas -- can have," Veen said Tuesday in a posting on Google's company blog.
The technology is Adaptive Path's first product. It was highlighted by Macromedia, a unit of Adobe Systems Inc., at the Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco in October.
