Shanghai RFID System Technology and UPM Raflatac will initially deliver 300,000 RFID tags to get the project underway. The library hopes the technology will reduce theft while allowing patrons to check out books and other media.
Rafsec said its tags are designed for RFID library applications. Jimei University Library will expand the project to other libraries on campuses later this year.
