ChangeWave surveyed more than 2,000 people involved in corporate IT spending, and 76% that used smartphones had BlackBerry devices. Palm found itself in second place with 17% of the market.
Apple's iPhone ranked second in planned smartphone purchases, with 13% expecting to buy the touch screen device. The iPhone will be more attractive to mobile professionals in June when an expected update will make it compatible with Microsoft Exchange e-mail servers and make it accessible to 3G networks.

It will be difficult to break RIM's grip on the business market, but Apple's upcoming 3G iPhone and suite of business features may help it wrestle away some market share.
While smartphone spending looked to be on the rise, overall IT spending remained relatively anemic, the survey found.
For the second quarter, 27% of respondents said they've spent less than planned on IT. Looking ahead, 24% said their companies' IT spending will decrease in the third quarter, and 28% said they expect budgets for the second half of 2008 to be lower than the first half.
