Getting To The Jet On Time

The Registered Traveler program, meant to move frequent fliers quickly through airport security, is picking up speed. Indianapolis International Airport this summer will use a Verified Identity Pass Inc. program that's used in Orlando, Fla., where 13,000 travelers pay $80 a year for the service. Travelers are prescreened using biometric data and background checks, and given smart cards to access a dedicated security line.

The Transportation Security Administration is expected to have details, such as data-collection guidelines, this week for a national program.
