Fingerprints And Notebooks: Hand-In-Hand




Passwords may become passé for notebooks.

MicronPC last week be-came the latest notebook vendor to unveil a model with built-in fingerprint-recognition capabilities. The biometric technology is in the Transport GX2. Earlier this month, Chem USA debuted its ChemBook 8600 with an optional internal biometrics fingerprint reader. Acer offers built-in biometric capabilities with its TravelMate line. And Dell sells external Identix biometric scanners that work with its notebooks.
