Those of us who work on commercial Web sites know that, occasionally, Ads Are Good. For example, they're good when the number of people clicking on them means that somebody in an office somewhere will decide that I deserve a check.
However, that doesn't mean I'm in favor of ads everywhere -- especially when they have less to do with my financial welfare, and more to do with my enjoyment of a site. So Nuke Anything sounded like a really good idea. Basically, what this handy little add-on does is add a feature to your right-click menu that says "Remove this object." Which it does -- temporarily (the ads return once you refresh) and quite efficiently.
As a result, I can keep most ads on a site, but get rid of the ones that are unpleasant, or garish, or just get in the way. This comes in most useful when a badly-formatted site puts ads directly in the way of text that I want to read -- I just right click, hit the link, and the offending box is gone.
Nuke Anything isn't anywhere near perfect, unfortunately. For one thing, it can't deal with Flash ads, which are among the worst offenders. And if an ad is made up of several interlacing objects, it may take several clicks to remove all of them. However, if you don't want to completely remove your ads, but just get the inconvenient ones out of the way, Nuke Anything will do the job.
