RSS readers (also sometimes called news aggregators) are everywhere, allowing us to access updates on a variety of news sources, blogs, and other resources. Users currently have two basic systems available to them: They can use a separate RSS reader or read the feeds directly in their browser. I am more of the newsreader kind of guy -- but for quickly checking RSS feeds, the Sage extension from Mozilla's own developers is just good enough.
As they say, it has a lot of what you need and not much of what you don't. The feeds are displayed in a separate tabbed page with three panes: the top left pane has a list of the feeds, the lower left has the actual articles for the particular site, and the larger right-hand pane has small boxes with specifics on each article. Adding feeds is a very easy process, and you can integrate the feeds with your overall bookmarks.
Bottom line: If you're a real RSS maven, you're going to want something with a lot more power. But if you follow less than 10 RSS feeds, Sage is a wise choice.
