Network Associates is getting out of the intrusion-detection business, ceding the market space to industry leaders such as Internet Security Systems Inc.
Network Associates' intrusion-detection software, CyberCop Monitor, checks incoming and outgoing network traffic so network administrators can detect hackers that invade their network. A Network Associates spokeswoman says the company will continue to support customers who are using the product. She also adds that the company doesn't plan to change the status of CyberCop Scanner, which is a security vulnerability assessment application.
