The Professional version is aimed at departments, while the Enterprise edition takes aim at larger, industrywide deployments. Financial and media companies, which need real-time search capabilities, are better served with the SST version.
Other new features in the Data Search line include a business manager Control Panel that lets executives fine-tune searches so targeted products are placed higher in the search results.
The Data Search line also now supports HP-UX and Red Hat Linux Advanced Server, in addition to earlier operating systems that included IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and Windows 2000 and XP.
