Based in the United Kingdom, Vodafone said in a statement that subscribers in selected markets would be able to access a version of YouTube directly from the company's mobile portal, called Vodafone Live. As part of the service, YouTube would provide a daily selection of videos, and users would be able to forward video links to others and upload their own content via a mobile phone with a video camera.
YouTube at the end of last summer was the third largest video site in the United States, based on the number of unique visitors watching video, according to ComScore Networks. More than one in five of every person watching video on the Web visited YouTube.
