Owners of several BlackBerry models can obtain access to Boingo Wireless' Wi-Fi network beginning Tuesday.

The service is available on the BlackBerry Curve 8900, the BlackBerry Curve 8320 and BlackBerry Bold smartphones, according to an announcement from Boingo, which said support for additional BlackBerry smartphones will be added as they become available.

BlackBerry owners using the service are automatically alerted when they are in range of a Boingo hotspot and a single click connects users to the Boingo network. The service is available for $7.95 a month.

"Boingo Mobile is about ease-of-use and a low-cost, high-speed alternative to cellular data," said Jonathan Mendelson, Boingo's general manager of mobile and product management, in a statement.

Boingo users can connect with the firm's network of more than 100,000 hotspots around the world. The Los Angeles-based firm is best known for its Wi-Fi hotspots in more than 55 airports including 29 in the U.S. Other Boingo hotspots are located in several hotel chains as well as in Internet cafes, coffee shops and restaurants.

Boingo also provides support for additional smartphones including those operating on Google Android, < ahref=" http://www.informationweek.com/news/mobility/business/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=218900308 ">iPhone, Symbian Series 60, and Windows Mobile platforms.
