Wendell Jones, Ex-Nasdaq CIO, Joins Digital

F ormer Nasdaq CIO Wendell Jones has joined Digital Equipment in a new position within the company's outsourcing services business. As VP of worldwide service delivery for Operations Management Services, a unit of Digital's Worldwide Services, Jones will be responsible for the delivery of Digital's multivendor outsourcing services.

Digital's Operations Management Services is one of three business units in Digital Worldwide Services, a $5.8 billion division. Multivendor outsourcing services are among Digital's fastest/growing services offerings.

Before joining Nasdaq in 1994, Jones held various IT management positions at McDonnell Douglas, including general manager of the company's aerospace information services unit, where he oversaw a $3 billion, 1 0/year IT outsourcing agreement with IBM. "I've been an internal IT guy all my life," says Jones. "Digital is well poised for making a difference in the services market. I think I can be a big fish in that pond."
