Plumtree Software, Inc. disclosed Monday that two financial-services industry customers, First Franklin Financial Corp. and Banknorth Insurance Group., are deploying Plumtree's Corporate Portal software.

First Franklin, a mortgage-lending subsidiary of National City Corp., is using the software to build a dashboard, integrated with business-intelligence software from MicroStrategy, that will allow executives to drill down for key performance metrics. Banknorth Insurance Group will be using Plumtree to design a portal for processing claims and agent commissions.

Financial-services companies use Plumtree's content-management and collaborative software to enable credit-card and bank-account holders to view online statements, to simplify internal processes such as loan processing, and for improved investment analysis and decision-making, according to the vendor.

Another Plumtree customer, MDS Capital Corp., a life-sciences venture-capital company with $1 billion under management, has built a deal-flow analysis system using Plumtree software. The system provides investment teams with collaborative tools and workspaces for analyzing investment opportunities, says Jacki Jenuth, MDS Capital's director of business intelligence.
