Interop Preview: Navigating the Transition in NetOps -- Culture, Community, and Code
Date / Time: Wednesday, September 03, 2014, 12:00 PM New York/9:00 AM San Francisco
Overview:

The networking industry is facing a time of critical change, leaving those in its wake to suffer the consequences. Networks need to perform better to meet the needs of today's applications and data centers, but most networking professionals and operations teams lack the gear, the tools, and the skills required to bring their networks to the next level.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3 at noon EDT (9:00 a.m. PDT), Jeremy Schulman, founder of Schprockits, a network automation startup operating in stealth mode, will join us to explore these issues, and how IT pros can respond. We'll discuss NetOps, DevOps, and whether networking professionals all need to learn programming in order to remain employed. We'll also talk about automation and its role in the future of networks and IT in general.

Jeremy Schulman is a 20-year veteran in the networking industry. For the past 3 years he has been on a mission to understand DevOps, the culture, tools and techniques, and bring them forward to network automation. He has been directly responsible for Ruby and Python libraries now used by the IT frameworks Puppet, Chef, and Ansible. While at Juniper Networks in the role of Director of Automation Concept Engineering, Jeremy had the privilege to work with some of the largest enterprise companies and assist them with complex automation workflow designs. Jeremy is now the Founder of Schprokits, which is dedicated to building DevOps-inspired network automation tools.

If you want to hear more from Jeremy, you can check out his session at Interop New York, 'Parley!' The Rules of Network Automation, on Oct. 1.
