Alpha Systems, an established provider of EMR services, electronic document management (EDM) and imaging, today announced that Capital Health Systems would implement the company's enterprise EDM solution.

Capital Health Systems, one of New Jersey's premier healthcare systems, will be incorporating the complete line of the Alpha 9000 EDM products and services into its health information management (HIM) system at its 2 campuses in Trenton, NJ. The Alpha 9000 system provides a paperless environment for registration, medical records, business office and accounts payable departments.

"Instead of waiting for a photocopier, registrars will be scanning advanced beneficiary notifications, insurance cards and other critical information at their own workstations," said Colleen Ford, director of health information management at Capital Health Systems. "This information will be available 'real time' for the business office to start the insurance verification process. Doctors will be able to complete their charts from their offices or at home. Caregivers will have immediate access to prior patient visits. The business office will have all of the necessary information at their fingertips to process billing. In short, there will be virtually no paper filing at Capital Health."
