Coral8 Makes Market Push

Company aims to be Crystal Reports of event processing.

Ventana QuickTake™

Take
On June 26 Coral8, Inc., announced the general availability of version 4.0 of its Coral8 Complex Event Processing Engine. The announcement is further evidence of the growing trend toward the use of event-based architectures to improve operational decision-making. Unlike other vendors that sell event processing technology as real-time business intelligence (BI) platforms or packaged analytic applications, Coral8 plans to focus on selling to developers and through OEM channels. This is a sales strategy Coral8 CEO Terry Cunningham used very effectively to make Crystal Reports one of the world's most widely used reporting tools. Ventana Research recommends that organizations that want to build their own event-based analytic applications or embed complex event processing into other systems evaluate Coral8's product.
