Yahoo's data center in La Vista, Neb., is one of several that are core to powering the network of the Yahoo's portal multiple sites. Operating efficient data centers enable people around the world to do more online with the firm's sites and services. Yahoo is a leading implementer of Hadoop, using it to index searches and generate advertising related profiles of Internet users of its Web sites. It runs it on clusters of up to 4,000 servers.
