Today, InformationWeek is launching Analytics Audio. It's a new way for you to get the information you need to solve the toughest problems in enterprise IT. In addition to reading our Analytics reports, you can listen to them as well. Our first audio report: The InformationWeek U.S. IT Salary Survey 2008 (free registration required). It's an MP3 file. Right now, you play at at your desktop; coming soon, you'll be able to download the file and listen to it at your PC, iPod, iPhone, or any other digital music player.

It's an interesting -- and disturbing -- survey; for the first time in 11 years, salaries for business technology professionals went down. Listen to the report and get the information and analysis you need to make good personnel decisions and personal career choices.

And after you've listened to the free audiobook, download the PDF report ($299). It's the same text, but it has many informative charts that we, obviously, can't include in the audio files.

In coming weeks, we'll be bringing you free audiobook reports based on our 2008 strategic security survey, our analysis of business process outsourcing, and more.

These are down-to-brass-tacks audio files -- no music, no audio special effects, no panel of experts discussing the issues. It's just the reports, read calmly and clearly.

We hope you find the salary survey audiobook useful, as well as the other audiobooks in this free series coming out in coming weeks.

What analytics reports would you like to hear as audiobooks? Let us know.
