This is basically about online relationships. I met a wonderful person online 3 years ago. I don't think facebook is doing anything different here.

Also worth noting: New York City, Detroit, and L.A. had a high percentage of singles, but the lowest rates of probable relationships. Many of my friends, especially in NYC and LA, would agree with that. :-)

Very intriguing information. I like the insight about single men in San Jose and San Francisco, but there's a reason for that.

Those areas are dominated by Silicon Valley, a place where many single technology professionals migrate to. That's why there are so many single guys there!
