Electronic commerce has evolved into a driving force for the shipping business, and package-delivery company UPS is looking to take full advantage of online opportunities.

The company today said it is forming a sales force and technical support team that will focus specifically on getting UPS customers to integrate the shipper's latest E-commerce offerings into their current systems. UPS recently expanded its electronic capabilities by adding UPS OnLine Tools, which includes seven shipping and logistics applications that let customers see shipping rates, time tables, address validation, and service mapping.
