Sun rolled out a new version of its learning-management system, Sun LearnTone, a Web-based platform that tracks and manages employee training. LearnTone technologies originate from assets acquired through the June purchase of learning-management system supplier Isopia Inc. Sun additionally revealed enhanced E-learning consulting services and expanded course offerings for its Sun Web Learning Center, a library of online training courses on Sun products.
Not to miss a potential lucrative market, Yahoo offers its own learning-management system, dubbed Training Management Studio, which manages course creation, user identity and access, and verification of training and comprehension. The Web-based software offers special tools for sales-force and new-hire training, as well as new product introductions. This follows last week's launch of two Web conferencing tools, Virtual Conference and Executive Communications Center.
