More Red Ink For Red Hat




Linux is on the minds of many IT executives, but not enough to help Red Hat Inc. turn a profit. The Linux and open-source software developer last week reported a $4.3 million loss on $19.5 million in revenue for its first quarter, ended May 31. Red Hat improved on its $27.6 million loss on $21.4 million in revenue for its first quarter a year ago. Its strength was in services, which brought in $7.8 million for the quarter, compared with $5.4 million a year ago.
