IT Salary Survey 2014: Application Development

Developers' raises matched or beat inflation in 2014, and middle-aged men working at large firms on the coasts fared best. Still, software development remains a well-paying field for everyone.

No surprises here
It's of no surprise the application development is not only in high demand, but has a high price tag for companies and enterprises... and it makes sense.

Technology is a major business strategy driving force, and you need to have innovation and applications develop to offer new services to further drive revenue....in other words, companies need top talent to deliver top of the line quality products.

It's interesting to see that 86% of Management require alignment with business and technology goals as part of the critical skills... but it's also of no surprise...since you need to be able to translate the business needs into code.

What is interesting is that there's no defining industry that has the highest demand for app development, and the numbers shown can atest that technology is becoming more of a business driver than a simple need for a network admin
