Server Market Splitsville

Just because the server market's in the doldrums doesn't mean innovation has ceased. Far from it -- server technology is enjoying the biggest renaissance since the dawn of x86 systems. But the primary driver is now service providers, not enterprises.

A server buying renaissance? Really?
That's hard to believe when 60 percent of respondents to this InformationWeek survey say there server budgets are down or level and 56 percent of respondents do their own purchase and installation.

It is interesting to see read that service providers are innovating with hyperscale hardware, hyperserver units and ARM supported hypervisors..
