Task Force Touts Fed Regs

The Software Lifecycle taskforce last week issued a 120-page report that asserts that government regulation may be required to secure the critical infrastructure. Membership of the task force includes Computer Associates, Hewlett-Packard, and Microsoft. It was formed in December to help advise the National Cybersecurity Division of the Department of Homeland Security on ways to reduce and manage application vulnerabilities that make many hacker and worm attacks possible.
