LightSquared: The Company That Won't Die
The would-be 4G provider is back with an altered plan for a wholesale 4G network--and for its survival.
LightSquared is asking the federal government to give it another chance to launch a 4G service that other operators can rent bandwidth on, this time on airwaves it claims don't interfere with GPS location signals.
In a new plan filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Friday, LightSquared is proposing to vacate the upper 10-MHz downlink L-Band spectrum at 1545-1555 MHz, The Wall Street Journal reported.
